In this task i have created a survey and collected my results to define my target audience and what they want. This, along with the research i have carried out will help inspire my end product and help it appeal to audiences.

One of the questions i asked was "what do you enjoy reading about in magazines?" this will be useful when it comes to creating my magazine as it gives a general theme that people are interested in. This would therefore appeal to my target audience as 50% of people voted for this when carrying out my survey. Celebrity updates is a popular topic and will appeal widely to my target audience and will appeal to both genders increasing interest in my magazine. I also included other options such as films and celebrity gossip, however, celebrity updates proved most popular. I will include updates on current and up ad coming celebrities and have decided to take a particular interest in youtubers as this is a very popular trend in modern society. This will appeal to my target age group (16-25 year olds) as research proves this is the main audience of youtube.






I also asked "which kind of photography would you expect to see on a front cover of an entertainment magazine?" This will be useful to my research as it will show which style of magazine cover people most associate with entertainment and which they are likely to pick up. The results of my survey show most people expect to see mid shots on the front cover relating to other entertainment magazines out there. Therefore i am going to include mid shots on the cover of my magazine issues.






I am going to base my magazine around celebrity updates and specifically focus on youtubers. Social media and youtube is a main trend right now in modern society and has a large audience interested in it. This links to entertainment and would be quite a unique magazine as i have not come across a magazine focusing on youtubers. When carrying out my survey i asked "what youtubers do you think are up and coming?" This will give me an idea of what up ad coming youtubers people are interested in and want to read about. This will also give me an idea of what kind of content on youtube my target audience are interested in. I had a variety of different responses which i will take on board in my magazine including a variety of information about the latest content creators to make sure my magazine is current, up to date and attracts readers with the newest, relevant and intriguing information, images and stories.
