I have chosen brief number 3 which involves creating my own magazine. During this task i will produce the first two editions for my new entertainment magazine and also create an online working website for the magazine. The minimum requirements for my chosen brief are:

The target audience for my magazine according to the brief are:

The Target audience for my magazine will be 16-25 year olds who are interested in all things youtube and social media. My magazine will particularly appeal to the younger generation such as young adults and teenagers as studies show that they are the group who are most interested in watching youtube and invested in social media meaning they will be most likely to buy and be interested in the content of my magazine over some of the older generations.
In this task i will be creating a mood board allowing me to explore different colours, fonts and images and experiment with different variations to see how they all come together to complement each other and form a theme for the cover of my magazine. I shall be looking at different connotations and how these effect the way my target audience may view my product and how i can make it appeal to them instantly.

Creating these moodboards has helped me generate ideas and theming that will contribute towards and inspire my magazine. The moodboards helped me test different colour schemes, camera angles and types of images that will compliment each other and look good on my front cover, contents page. It also helped me generate the overall theme and feel that my magazine will have.
I have decided to use red as the main colour for my magazine as i feel like this represents the topic well. i have got the inspiration of this from the youtube logo which is Red and may instantly influence people to make the connection to youtube. I am also going to include black and white as i believe that black and white will compliment the red as well as making it stand out. This will also make the magazine look sophisticated and professional where the splash of red will give it a sense of fun.
In my mood board i tested different types of shots which i may decide to include in my magazine. Overall i think that a close up head and shoulders shot will work best on the front cover. This makes the audience feel a sense of intimacy with the person on the front cover and may draw them towards buying it. This is also a good way of showing what and who is going to be included in the magazine and giving audiences a sense of what they can expect.
In my moodboard i have created different types of mast heads to experiment with ultimately helping me decide which one i want to use to make up my magazine. I have decided to use the bottom masthead on my moodboard as i wanted the masthead to be bold and eye-catching whilst also including elements of the youtube logo which i have created in this design.
I have included a section on my moodboard for location. This section is made up of different images which will inspire the vibe and feel of my magazine. I am going to keep the front cover quite professional and use a white background to make the model stand out. Using a white background will also represent a youtube filming background for example, in a studio or infront of a background specifically designed for filming videos as many youtubers use in their videos.
